Job Position: Bindery OperatorReports to: Print Operations Manager Department: PrintClassification: Overtime EligiblePCI Group is the leading provider of mission critical communications for businesses where security of customer-centric data is paramount, precision and accuracy are crucial, and compliance is a must.Job Summary:Responsible for the proper folding of a variety of printed pieces, including multiple page sheets.Some General Duties/Responsibilities:
Understands roll fed and cutsheet folding equipment.
Organize all work by date and type of fold.
Reads each job ticket thoroughly to understand which pieces need to fold, to what sizes, and makes note of the various code numbers.
Inspects materials provided for the job to ensure they are as specified on the job ticket and sample board, and that they are not of sub-standard quality.
Set-up and operates bindery efficiently, being careful to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout run.
Finished work needs to be kept in sequential order.
Completes production log, job ticket, and Q.C. slips.
Performs maintenance to folders routinely, including cleaning, checking for worn parts, replacement of parts, and lubrication.
Keeps work area clean and organized.
Responsible for following all established safety procedures and making sure equipment safety guards and switches are properly set before operating machines.
Will comply with all current and future security and compliance requirements.
Education/Experience:
At least two years’ experience supervising in - related industry.
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of folding machine operation.
Knowledge of production requirements is necessary.
Requires ability to stand for long periods.
Requires lifting of 30-50 lbs. Several times a day
Ability to follow written and oral instructions are essential.
HS diploma.
Ability to set-up and operate folders and other, bindery equipment is preferred
Experience with Baum, MBO, Tecnau, folding equipment.
Knowledge of GMS Glue systems.
Computer skills: Knowledge of Multi Scan, File Lookup, AOI Match.
Champion Guillotine, Speedo cutter.
